Taylor Penton has done it again. I do not know how he manages to create typography that feels like a warm embrace and a threat to my personal safety at the exact same time, but Hell’s Angles is an absolute masterpiece.
As a dedicated devotee of Taylor, I will buy literally anything he puts his name on. If he released a font that was just varying lengths of straight lines, I would find a way to use it on a corporate website. But Hell’s Angles? It is glorious. It is ugly, it is completely unhinged, and it is entirely perfect. The product description says it is what happens when two designers fight and lose all restraint, and you can truly feel that chaotic energy in every single glyph. It is the typographic equivalent of an unruly motorcycle enthusiast knocking on your door at two in the morning to ask for a cup of sugar. You cannot say no, and you are just grateful it did not break your legs.
Taylor, take all my money. You are a genius, and Hell’s Angles is the delightfully weird, beautifully aggressive font of my dreams.
