1. THE BASICS
This store sells digital products: fonts, illustration packs, and related design assets. Nothing ships. When you buy something, you get a download and a license to use it. These Terms cover how the store works; the license included with your download (the EULA) covers how you can use the fonts.
By using this site or buying anything from it, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. Taylor Penton (also operating as Work by Taylor) runs this store. It is powered by Shopify.

2. LICENSING
Fonts are licensed, not sold. Every purchase includes an End User License Agreement (EULA) in your download files. That document governs your use of the fonts, and if it ever conflicts with these Terms, the EULA wins.

Two tiers:

  • Standard License: individuals and organizations with fewer than 50 total employees.
  • Extended License: organizations with 50 or more employees.

Both are one-time payments, perpetual and non-exclusive. Both allow full commercial and personal use: unlimited desktop installs within your organization, webfonts with unlimited pageviews, embedding in apps and games, broadcast, logos and branding, client work, and products for sale.

What you can't do:

  • Redistribute or resell the font files themselves, including sending the raw files to clients or anyone outside your organization.
  • Modify or reverse engineer the font software. (Converting text to vector outlines for design purposes is fine.)
  • Build or sell a derivative font product from it.
  • Install it on a server that lets unlicensed users generate customized products. That requires a separate Server License; use the contact form.

If your team grows past 50 employees on a Standard License, an upgrade to Extended is required. Use the contact form and we'll get you sorted.

Illustration packs: same spirit. Use them freely in commercial and personal projects; don't resell or redistribute the files as standalone assets, modified or not.

3. ORDERS AND PAYMENT
Prices are as posted at the time you order and may change without notice. Posted prices don't include applicable taxes. You agree to provide accurate, current payment information, and if you create an account, you're responsible for it and for keeping its credentials secure. Orders aren't accepted until payment is processed, and we may decline or cancel an order, for example if a price or description was listed in error. If that happens, we'll contact you at the email on the order.

4. DELIVERY
Everything is delivered digitally. After checkout you'll get download links on the confirmation page and by email. If a link doesn't arrive or doesn't work, use the contact form and I'll make it right.

5. REFUNDS
Covered in the Refund Policy. Short version: 30 days, even if you've already downloaded the files.

6. TYPE CLUB
Type Club is a subscription: a one-time sign-up fee, then a recurring monthly charge billed on your sign-up date until you cancel. Credits are issued on the same schedule and work as described on the Type Club page. They roll over while your membership is active and expire at the end of your final billing cycle. Cancel anytime from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current cycle.

7. SITE CONTENT
The content of this site (text, images, graphics, font displays, and the design of the site itself) belongs to Taylor Penton and is protected by copyright and trademark law. Buying a font licenses the font under its EULA; it doesn't transfer copyright or let you reuse site content. Don't scrape the site, interfere with its security, use it for anything unlawful, or impersonate anyone on it.
If you post a review or send feedback, ideas, or suggestions, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use them, including commercially, and you confirm the content is yours and lawful.

8. RELATIONSHIP WITH SHOPIFY
Taylor Penton is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide the Services to you. However, any sales and purchases you make in our Store are made directly with Taylor Penton. By using the Services, you acknowledge and agree that Shopify is not responsible for any aspect of any sales between you and Taylor Penton, including any injury, damage, or loss resulting from purchased products and services. You hereby expressly release Shopify and its affiliates from all claims, damages, and liabilities arising from or related to your purchases and transactions with Taylor Penton.

9. NO WARRANTIES
THE SERVICES AND ALL PRODUCTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THESE DISCLAIMERS, SO THEY MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TAYLOR PENTON, AND SHOPIFY AND ITS AFFILIATES, WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, PUNITIVE, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST REVENUE, OR LOSS OF DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES OR ANY PRODUCT, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

11. THE LEGAL ODDS AND ENDS
You'll indemnify Taylor Penton and Shopify against third-party claims arising from your breach of these Terms or violation of law. If any provision of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest still stand. Not enforcing a provision isn't a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them. These Terms, together with the policies posted on this site, are the entire agreement between you and us about the store, except that your use of purchased fonts is governed by the EULA in your download. We may update these Terms by posting changes here; continued use of the store means you accept them. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaii, United States, and any disputes belong in the state or federal courts located in Hawaii.
