hey, i’m taylor.

I’m a creative based out of Maui who works with brands small and large, providing strategy, visual identities, and design with a focus on hand-drawn type and marks.

With a deep background in traditional media, my love for creating brought me to freelance back in 2016, and since then I’ve established myself as a dynamic designer. I live a life built on a foundation of Jesus, and love the things every artist loves: mountains, coffee and my girl. I’m also an actively competitive grappler, which I’ve been doing for the better part of 11 years.

Have a burning question? See the drop down below or feel free to reach out.

  • Because there are many variables when it comes to a project, it’s hard to give a number given the range of work I do. Below are the minimum budget requirements for some projects:

    Logo Systems: $4000+

    Strategy / Identity Systems: $10,000+

    Packaging: $5000+

I work hard to tailor projects around a client’s budget and have many routes available to achieve their goals. As a freelancer, I’m able to offer specialty design services, flexibility in payments and schedules, and direct personal communication. Compared to an agency, the overhead cost is low, which translates into efficiency in cost without cutting corners.

  • Strategic design is a systematic approach to creating and connecting a brand's essence with its target audience, emphasizing both functionality and aesthetics. It combines research, strategy, and visual identity to create a cohesive and impactful brand experience that drives business growth.

  • This is how you express your brand’s personality. It allows you to stand out from your competitors and attract your target audiences effectively. Your visual identity is likely the first contact someone has with you, and the message spoken through color, typography, logos and other visual assets is an important factor in making a lasting impression and growing your business.

  • A logo is what we all know as the face of a brand. Its job is not to explain, but to identify. All my work is carefully hand-drawn through blood, sweat and tears (maybe that’s a little dramatic) to be unique, recognizable and set the tone with who you are. A logo is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to identity, which as noted above, is all visual aspects of the brand and support the brand as a whole - these elements reinforce and are the backbone of being unique, recognizable and relatable.

  • Glad you asked. Here’s a quick run down. For more information, all of this is explained in depth in the discovery phase.

Phase 1: Discovery — Zoom meeting, project details, timeline, package options.

Phase 2: Information — Project brief, deposit, direction.

Phase 3: Strategy — Defining goals, brand positioning and messaging, identifying clients, moodboard.

Phase 4: Identity — Developing and proposing visual concepts, drafting, finals.

Phase 5: Wrapping up — Invoice, final files, styleguide walkthrough, debrief.

  • Your basic package would include a tailored strategy, your brand identity assets (designs, brand color palette and typeface pairings, etc.), an extensive styleguide that outlines your brand, and ensures effective use of the work and important creative direction. There are many additions available Depending on the objective and goals of your brand. This can range from service menues, apparel, signage, monograms, labels, packaging, web design, etc. every project is tailored (taylored?) to you.
