hey, i’m taylor.

I’m a creative based out of Maui who works with brands small and large, providing strategy, visual identities, and design with a focus on hand-drawn type and marks.

With a deep background in traditional media, my love for creating brought me to freelance back in 2016, and since then I’ve established myself as a dynamic designer. I live a life built on a foundation of Jesus, and love the things every artist loves: mountains, coffee and my girl. I’m also an actively competitive grappler, which I’ve been doing for the better part of 11 years.

FAQ

What are your rates?

Because there are many variables in a project, it’s hard to give a number given the range of work I do. Below are the minimum budget requirements for some projects:

Strategy / Identity Systems: $12,000+

Packaging: $5000+

Marketing Material: $2000+

I work hard to tailor projects around a client’s budget and have many routes available to achieve their goals. As a freelancer, I’m able to offer specialty design services, flexibility in payments and schedules, and direct personal communication. Compared to an agency, the overhead cost is low, which translates into efficiency in cost without cutting corners.

What’s your approach?

No two projects are the same. The first step is always getting a clear picture of where the business is now and where it wants to go. Without that, coming up with an effective solution tends to fall flat.

A brand is like a puzzle. A logo, no matter how stunning, won’t get you where you need to be on its own. Same with a website or packaging. Each piece—logo, messaging, design—has to work together to build the full picture. The goal isn’t just to make things look nice, but to create a brand that makes sense and drives results at every touchpoint.

What does the process look like?

Here’s an outline of the basic framework

Phase 1: Discovery: Video call discussing the business overview, current issues, possible solutions, and outline of project details and timeline.

Phase 2: Insights: Project proposal, deposit, collecting insights, project framing.

Phase 3: Strategy: Market insights, defining demographics, target audience, positioning and messaging, creative direction.

Phase 4: Content Creation: Developing and proposing visual concepts, drafting, finals.

Phase 5: Wrapping up: Invoice, final files, styleguide walkthrough, debrief.
